Keema Biryani

Ingredients

    For boiling rice:
  1. Rice 1 kg
  2. Salt 2 tbsp
  3. Green cardamom 4
  4. Black cardamom 2
  5. Cinnamon stick 1 piece
  6. Black pepper corn 1 tsp
  7. Cumin seeds 1 tsp
    Other Ingredients:
  1. Oil 1/4 cup
  2. Mince 1 & 1/2 kg
  3. Onion large 1
  4. Tomato 4 medium
  5. Ginger & garlic paste 1 & 1/2 tbsp
  6. Red chilli powder 1 tsp
  7. Salt 1 & 1/2
  8. Coriander powder 1 tsp
  9. Cumin powder 1 tsp
  10. Turmeric powder 1 tsp
  11. All spice powder 1 tsp
  12. Green chillies 4-5
  13. Fresh coriander as required
  14. Kewra water 2 tbsp
  15. Food color a pinch
  16. yogurt 1 cup
  17. Lemon 1

Recipe

  1. Boil rice 80 percent with all ingredients written under boiling rice.
  2. Heat oil, add onions then add ginger & garlic paste and golden fry it..
  3. Add tomatoes, red chilli powder, coriander powder, cumin powder, salt and half cup water, wait till the tomatoes become paste on low flame and all water is dried.
  4. Now add mince mix well till the mince changes its color and leaves water.
  5. Add yogurt and half cup water.
  6. When the water starts boiling again, cover till the mince is totally cooked and all water dries up.
  7. Add all spice powder, green chillies and fresh coriander mix well for 2 minutes and keep aside.
  8. Now start layering, firstly add some of the mince in a pot, then add rice, again mice and again rice repeat the step till you add all the mice and rice.
  9. Cut lemon in large peices and place it on the top, dont squeeze it
  10. Mix kewra water and food color.
  11. Add it drop by drops in corners.
  12. Now cover the lid with a tea towel and place it on the layered pot of rice and mince, then cook for first 5 minutes on high flame and then lower the flame low to medium and simmer for further 10 minutes.
  13. Serve hot.
