Fish Biryani

Ingredients:


For Fish Marination:
  1. Fish 750g (of your choice)
  2. Lemon juice 4 tbs
  3. Salt 1/2 tsp
  4. Ginger & garlic paste 1 tsp
For Biryani:

  1. Rice 750g (boiled with salt 1 tbs)
  2. Potatoes 5 medium (peeled, boiled with salt 1 tbs & deep fried)
  3. Onions 2 medium (sliced)
  4. Tomatoes 2 large (sliced)
  5. Fried onions 1 cup
  6. Thick greek yogurt 1 cup
  7. Ginger & garlic paste 1 tbs
  8. Dry fenugreek leaves 1/2 cup
  9. Green chilli 3 (sliced)
  10. Coriander powder 1 tbs
  11. Garam masala powder 1 tsp
  12. Turmeric 1/2 tsp
  13. Red chilli powder 1 tsp
  14. Salt 1 ts
  15. Kewra water 2 tbs
  16. Yellow food colour 1/4 tsp
  17. Cumin seeds 1&1/2 tsp (dry roasted & crushed)
  18. Coal for bbq effect
  19. Oil 1/2 cup

Recipe:



  1. Marinate fish with lemon juice, salt, ginger & garlic paste cover and leave for 15 minutes.(then wash the fish and keep in a sieve to drain the water)
  2. Heat oil add onions, ginger & garlic paste and fry till gets light golden, on high flame.
  3. Then add tomatoes, dry fenugreek leaves, cumin crushed, garam masala powder, salt, red chilli, coriander powder, t turmeric, water 1/2 cup and cook till the oil comes on surface on high flame.
  4. Add the yogurt and cook till the oil comes on surface, on high flame.(heat the coal at this stage).
  5. Now add 1/4 cup water mix and add the fish pieces, do not mix it only pick the pot and move it in a rotating motion, cover and cook for 5 minutes.
  6. Then add a piece of foil, coal on it top it with a tsp of oil and cover till the smoke settles.
  7. Remove the fish pieces, add fresh coriander mix and cook on high flame till the oil again comes on surface.
  8. Add the fried potatoes mix and close the flame.
  9. In a large pan add boiled rice, all masala and mix, then add the fried onions, green chilli, kewra water mixed will colour, mix it. Then add the fish pieces cover the lid with a tea towel and simmer it for 10 to 15 minutes then serve hot.
