Chinyoti Pilau

Ingredients


  1. Chicken 1kg (cut in 12 pieces)
  2. Rice 750g (washed & soaked for 20 min)
  3. Onions 2 medium (finely sliced)
  4. Tomatoes 2 large (chopped in four pieces)
  5. Dried plum 12
  6. Red chilli powder 1 tsp (heaped)
  7. Salt 2 tbsp
  8. Ginger & garlic paste 1 tbsp
  9. Cloves 1 tsp
  10. Cinnamon stick 2 pieces
  11. Cumin seedes 1 & 1/2 tsp
  12. Black cardamom 3
  13. Black pepper corn 1 tsp
  14. Green chilli 10
  15. Oil 1 cup
  16. Water 5 cups

Recipe


  1. In a pan add chicken, tomatoes, dried plums, green chilli, cloves black pepper corn, cinnamon stick, black cardamom, cumin seeds, red chilli, salt, ginger & garlic paste, water mix and wait for a boil on high flame, then cook on medium flame till the chicken is cooked and stock is ready. (can add more water if it dries fast)
  2. Once cooked remove the chicken and keep aside.
  3. Heat oil fry the onions till golden on high flame.
  4. Now add the chicken and fry for 2 minutes.
  5. Add the washed and soaked rice, and the stock, cook on high flame covered till the stock dries.
  6. Now cover the lid with a tea towel and simmer on low flame for 10 to 15 minutes.
  7. Serve hot.
